Alumni Outcomes Data

Steppingblocks Graduate Insights

Steppingblocks is an AI-powered labor market analytics platform that helps institutions understand where their graduates go after completing their degrees and how their careers evolve over time. It brings together publicly available professional information from sources such as LinkedIn and Indeed to build a more complete picture of workforce outcomes.

Steppingblocks provides insights into alumni employment patterns, including job titles, industries, geographic distribution, salary estimations, and career pathways. It also surfaces aggregated skill trends drawn from professional profiles and resumes, helping illustrate how UNM graduates apply their education in the workforce.

The Steppingblocks Graduate Insights platform is available to all UNM faculty and staff, and is designed to support institutional planning, academic program review, and student career advising by translating large-scale labor market data into accessible, program-level insights.

Postsecondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) Data

Beginning July 1, the University of New Mexico (UNM) will be provided access to Postsecondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) data, a set of experimental statistics developed by the U.S. Census Bureau that describe how graduates fare in the labor market after completing their degrees.

PSEO data provide information on employment and earnings outcomes by degree level, field of study, institution, and state. These insights are generated by securely linking postsecondary academic records with national employment data, enabling a more detailed understanding of workforce outcomes across programs and disciplines.

This dataset is produced through formal data-sharing partnerships between the U.S. Census Bureau and participating universities, state agencies, and labor market organizations. All data are processed using strict confidentiality and privacy protections to ensure individual-level information cannot be identified.

At UNM, PSEO will complement existing student outcomes tools by offering a standardized, federally sourced view of graduate employment and earnings patterns over time.

Access details, documentation, and training resources for PSEO will be shared as they become available.
